The Life Chain event in Omaha took place on October 1. St. Margaret Mary’s hosted a BBQ for participants after the event. Knights from St. Margaret Mary – Council 11800, Our Lady of Lourdes – Council 13080, and St Cecilia’s Father Flanagan of Boys Town – Council 652 came together to put on the BBQ with each council bringing resources and supplies for the BBQ and participating in the event.

The brothers came together at 1:30 to set up for the event, setting up chairs, tables and firing up the bbq to feed those who came to stand for life. They stood in support of life from 2-3pm all along Dodge street in Omaha with parishes from all over Omaha. The participants stood and held signs supporting life along Dodge street from 62nd to 90th street. The Knights then fed 200 of those participants who showed up in support of life and then cleaned up afterwards.

It was a great event and we salute our Brother Knights who participated and thank the Respect Life Ministries of St. Margaret Mary and Our Lady of Lourdes/Holy Cross who organized the event and invited the councils to participate. The Knights raised $202.00 for the Nebraska KofC Pro-Life Fund. We look forward to more opportunities to support life with our fellow councils.
